Ouch! I wouldn’t be surprised if Meredith is injured pretty badly from both being gripped by that robot hand (pretty sure it wasn’t gently grabbing her) and then pretty much doing a belly flop from what looks like at least 20 feet in the air. She should definitely be severely injured with some broken bones and bruised organs at the very least least.
I’m not sure Madison has enough plot armor that we can entirely rule out the possibility that she just died.
On the other hand, there might be evidence of Manga physics, given that she was still alive when the page began, despite being squeezed by a giant robot hand (well, the robot may not be going for kill, we have no idea what it is up to and how much of what code is currently running in there).
Oh, I think she’s alive but we no amount of plot armor is going to protect her from getting severely injured without compromising the integrity of the story.
Not to mention the plot more or less calls for her to get injured at this point! Inverse plot armour? Though Reena was bait, Madison had a target on her.
At any rate, it will be really interesting to see how she deals with the injury and whether Belanie or Reena or Hardiman or some combination thereof can now finally get her to listen to them about the overworking problem.
Well, Madison is probably going to be on the Chief’s shit list for going on that call when she was told not to. This will happen for sure if Reena gets injured enough to delay the under cover op for a few weeks at the minimum or if this causes Reena to go on the news and become somewhat famous for awhile.
Manga physics will dictate that she survived the fall. Why? Her chest; Airbags. And not just because she’s one of the two female lead characters.
I’m pretty sure that killer machine gripped Meredith pretty hard and she did practically a belly flop onto the ground from a pretty big height should mean that Meredith should be dead or in for years of healing/rehabilitation if this was going by real world physics.
But since we’re going by fictional physics and futuristic technology, I expect Meredith to still suffer from some pretty serious injures but not be crippled or needing to take years to recover to an extent.
Really, nobody should be shocked that she survives this. She was thrown through an actual building by that muscleman… AFTER she’d already survived being flung through a concrete wall by a giant mutant shark-man-thing. Not to mention crashing through the roof of a car after being flung by an explosion when she was younger…
Frankly, I’d be more shocked if her uniform survived the impact considering clothing damage seems to be the meter for injury in this comic. (Not a complaint, just an observation. :D)
Exactly. Manga physics.
This is why we need SPORKlifts
