For Authorized Eyes Only—Undercover Operation #9238-BN
Officer Reena Saffron will be assuming the identity of a high school student enrolled in Sumter Academy, a private all-girls’ boarding school. The Department has been in close contact with Sumter’s top administration and has secured placement for Officer Saffron in current semester classes. The academy will provide her with a shared dorm room.
Officer Saffron will enroll in Sumter Academy as a “transfer student” [the Department is currently working on a cover identity for Officer Saffron].
Madison Wynter will be supervising the operation. Officer Saffron’s enrollment at Sumter Academy begins in three days.
Danger Zone One. Story by Midnight. Art by Tanabata Usagi.
Well, at least Reena clearly sees the symptoms and the top level problems, even if she’s mostly wrong about the cause.
The supervision role in the undercover assignment might actually force Madison to work with her brain instead of with her body for a while. I’m curious about how uncooperative her brain is at this point, I’m guessing verily. And what happens when she eventually needs to spring into action again? After a taste of slight rest her body might just flat out refuse to do so.
Reena is definitely in danger in this next assignment. Madison too, in a very different way. Who saves whom?
Glad that Reena sees that Madison is overworking herself but she’s wrong if she thinks she’s doing it because Reena didn’t do much. Reena distracted that mech at a crucial point to save the civilian and disable the mech. If she hadn’t then things would’ve been different I think.
Reena shouldn’t be so hard on herself, she did as much as she could have, given the circumstances.
I like this scene/page a lot, it really goes to show how different their personalities are. Reena’s second-guessing herself and filled with doubts, while Madison’s running on pure confidence (maybe too much?).
And why would anyone assume the ‘top administration officials’ wouldn’t be suspects ?
The only way two people can keep a secret is if one of them is dead…
*Death Gurgle* Curse your inevitable betrayal
“For Authorized Eyes Only” – might as well be “for those who need to eliminate her for our plan to succeed”
