GETTING HIGHER:
A LOOK AT THE STATISTICS
By Curt Shayner

Within the last year, there has been a reported 65% surge in drug-related arrests throughout Pallad City. Statistics show that Sydust, Nucaine, and Euphoria usage have dramatically increased, with no signs of slowing down.

Known as โ€œclub drugs,โ€ these are far from the only illicit substances that have left their mark on the cityโ€”but they are notable as being the specific focus of a recent study released by the Pallad City Addiction Center.

According to the study, Sydust usage has increased by 27%, while Nucaine and Euphoria usage have risen by 34% and 39%, respectively.

These three drugs have also seen a 33% rise with users in the 18-24 age range and a 26% increase with users between the ages of 25-34.

The general statistics are even more alarming. Overall drug-related deaths have soared by 44% and the arrest of offenders involved in repeated drug-related crimes have climbed 46% when compared to last year’s reported findings.

Despite these numbers, funding cuts to citywide drug rehabilitation facilities have had their budgets slashed by nearly 48%, with ongoing grants cancelled and staff drastically reduced.
