The client wants the removal of sensory signals that allow her to feel pain.
Client has informed me that she underwent previous gene modifications to significantly dull any sensation to pain. However, she now desires her pain receptors to be eliminated altogether.
I’ve stressed the importance of the human body’s ability to perceive physical discomfort, but the client is adamant.
Targeting/dampening the SCN9A and FAAH genes will effectively silence pain signals from reaching the brain. Turning these genes “off” completely will result in permanent analgesia.
Per the client’s request, we will begin the process tomorrow.

I’ve seen too much Dragonball Z to not recognize Madison’s face in that last panel as the classic one Vegeta makes whenever his big attack gets no-sold by the usual arc-boss to establish just how OP the new baddie is.
Come to think of it, Zoe also pulled one of Vegeta’s classic expressions of “thumbing at herself with arrogance”…right before getting squashed.
Except *unlike* Vegeta, Madison has no backup here.
In the meantime, apparently it *is* possible to dull or possibly even entirely inhibit pain reception *without* suppressing the loss of the sense of touch, as evidenced by existing analgesics such as Tylenol?
Which means that for Madison, things are about to get really painful and ugly since this enemy has a theoretically limitless pain capacity, so would need to be entirely incapacitated, and Madison doesn’t have a weapon on her.
Double edged sword though. Just because she can’t feel pain doesn’t mean she can’t be injured. Just ask the guy from Novocaine. I feel like madison should be able to incapacitate her with her bare hands….but then again there’s that inhuman strength which has been demonstrated….eh. Palm strike to the nose. One shot one kill.
So much for the knife attack! I hope Madison’s shock glove fares better.
