Officer Database // Medical Evaluation
Patient: Madison Wynter
Police Physician: Raye Belanie
[Routine Physical Examination]
I do not believe I have ever encountered a more standoffish and uncooperative patient. To be honest, this was barely an examination—Ms. Wynter would not even allow me to check her heart rate. Repeated efforts to test her other vitals, vision acuity, respiratory assessment, etc were all met with resistance.
I am not sure how my predecessor handled Ms. Wynter but, judging by her nearly empty medical records, I can safely assume they didn’t. Ms. Wynter will find that I am not one to give up without a fight.
While I currently have nothing to document regarding Ms. Wynter’s physical exam, I can report that when she left my office, my heart rate was certainly up.
Danger Zone One. Story by Midnight. Art by Salaiix.
Quit scolding her and order her out for two weeks. You’re a doctor. You can do that instead of wasting both of your time being Dr. Grump.
Or…she can continue to scold her until she gets enraged and the two tangle up which eventually leads to some hot lesbian action?
This is the correct answer.
The thing is, ordering Madison to rest will not make Madison rest. Raye seems to still operate under the assumption that some scolding and explanation might do it. I fear for Madison’s well-being right now, because that won’t work. Raye needs to realise that Madison needs to be forced (way different from ordered!) to rest before this meeting is over.
There might be some way to do it with words. Telling Madison that she is likely to suffer permanently incapacitating non-deadly injuries might work, I think she dreads inactivity and incapacity far more than death. Another possibly possible way would be to say death or permanent injury, which in itself doesn’t bother Madison, but then follow that with the argument that Pallad City – the inhabitants and the city as a whole, not just the PD – needs Madison at full capacity for as long as possible.
I think also the fact that Madison is one of the best. plus Madison would go to work anyway.
I’m really liking Dr. Belanie, both in personality and character design.
Seconded. That journal entry shows a lot, including a sense of humour.
I would just point out that right now as it stands, Gripps is a better detective than Madison right now in her current state so that would serve as good motivation I think for Madison to actually attempt to resolve the issue causing her to not sleep. lol
Good for you Doc. Matti has to step back a bit and listen to reason before she winds up dead, and maybe others with her.
