CRIME RATE SOARS AS PUBLIC’S FAITH
IN POLICE PLUNGE TO ALL TIME LOW

Arie Skye, Pallad City Post

Crime rates in Pallad City are up about 82% this year, according to data released Monday by the Pallad City Police Department. Police claim that the alarming rise in violence is mostly contained to a handful of pockets on the city’s West Side, bordering the Kurtow Ruins. This statement goes against recent statistics, released by the Central Crime Division last month, confirming a swell of criminal activity across multiple city districts, including the uptown and downtown areas.

Police have attributed the emergent crime rates to an increased presence of street gangs. The Neon Knights are one of the city’s largest organized gangs with over 350 members known to the police. For many months their existence was the subject of debate, until graffiti appeared flaunting the Neon Knights’ unique neon-colored gang tags, followed by reports of recurring criminal activity.

“There’s a reality to these gangs, but there’s also been no shortage of myth mixed in,” a police spokesperson said. “The reality is that they do exist, but the myth is that they are all over the place in large numbers. That’s simply not true.”
