Officer Evaluation Report
Officer Name: Arlew Gripps
Administrative Comments:
In terms of overall performance, Gripps is best described as a barely adequate officer. He is lax in his duties and applies minimal effort to any given task. His case reports arrive late, some of which are incomplete. Many of the cases assigned to him remain open and/or unsolved. He also shows a blatant disregard for police procedure. It is clear that the only reason Gripps can manage his most basic duties is due to the impressive efforts of his partner, Jonio Sev.
Gripps has the training to be a promising officer—unlike many of the Department’s current officers, he did not graduate from the Fast-Track program and, instead, attended the reputable BlueCrest Academy. Unfortunately, little of that experience is put to any use.
Of considerable concern are the recent incidents involving inappropriate behavior and conduct unbecoming of an officer. According to the reports, several female officers have claimed Gripps made flirtatious and sexual remarks towards them. Internal Affairs will be investigating these allegations.

Maybe Gripps’ value to the department is that he has a finely tuned bullshit detector? No need for fine tuning here, but on the other hand, he seems 100% certain with zero hesitation in this case. He also seems actually worried about Madison right now, which might hint at a redeeming quality in his personality, buried deeply beneath his persona.
Wow, Maybe Gripps has got a grip on the situation? Then again, it might be to no avail or use to anyone. We’ll see.
Looks like there’s something more serious going on with Maddy than just being shaken by a nightmare.
Gripps showing concern seems… oddly out of character for him. At least for any reasonable stretch of time. If he does manage to assist her to the Doc, he may end up getting his hand broken for trying to cop a feel… feel a cop? Get a gripp? Okay, I’m done now…
Also… Interesting that an (unsubstantiated) rumor would find it’s way into official paperwork…

So I wouldn’t be surprised if Gripps’ constant flirting/harassment of women and being a slacker is just more of a front/game to him when things are normal.
Either way, It looks like he is capable of being mature and acting more responsibly when the situation calls for it.

Well, he is like Tony Di Nozzo on NCIS but seems to take his flirting and such to a higher level I guess where it gets him in trouble. Then again, if people see you as a flirtatious slacker, then they can be surprised when you get serious and surprise them.
The difference between harmless flirting and ‘sexual harassment’ is entirely dependant on how the target or ‘victim’ views the one hitting on them
You are right to an extent. Gripps did grope Reena at the beginning of the strip so he does take his flirtatious behavior too far at times for sure.
