Chatting with Kris Kallum – NetRadio Program

KALLUM: We’re up against the break, but let’s get one more caller in. Ian, you’re live on Chatting with Kris Kallum. Thoughts on the Pallad City Star’s recent piece on Mayor Neville?

CALLER: I read it, but I don’t believe a word. Why’d a rich guy like Neville burn down his own factory? Come on, that’s ridiculous.

KALLUM: Well, according to the Star, the Mayor was drowning in financial trouble and needed a quick buck for his re-election campaign. You’re not buying it, huh?

CALLER: Nah. I’m not the Mayor’s biggest fan—I mean, I did vote for him—but it’s obvious the Star made up the whole thing just to sell copies.

KALLUM: Neville’s approval ratings are up a bit since Halloween. If you had to rate the Mayor’s performance right now, on a scale from one to ten—with ten being best—what would you give him?

CALLER: Eh, maybe a six. [Pause] No. I take that back. A seven or an eight.

KALLUM: That’s pretty high.

CALLER: He’s a hell of a lot better than most of our previous mayors. Neville’s not perfect, and I don’t agree with everything he’s pushing, but he actually gets stuff done. His whole Renew Initiative sounds like a pipe dream, but he really cleaned up Pallad City Park and the Pioneer Bridge. Okay, granted, the crime rate’s still out of control—but I don’t think the best mayor alive could do anything about that. The PCPD’s beyond hope. Everyone knows it.

KALLUM: All right, thanks for your thoughts, Ian. We’re heading to a break now. More to come on Chatting with Kris Kallum when we return.
