MAS-16 (Manufacturer Details)
The MAS-16 (Modular Assault Rifle) is the latest in Vyper Industries’ long line of 5.56x45mm caliber, air-cooled, gas-operated, magazine-fed carbines. As with earlier models, the MAS-16 features fully automatic, semi-automatic, and three-round burst firing modes. Designed with mobility in mind, the MAS-16 is both shorter and lighter than the TAR-90, and offers unprecedented customization options.
Compatible with various BMKs (Battlefield Modification Kits), the MAS-16 allows for a wide range of tactical loadouts depending on scenario necessity. Its modular design offers fast-change swapping to be done DOB (Direct-On-Battlefield), making the MAS-16 adaptable to any combat situation.
Vyper’s standard BMK includes advanced optical and reflex sights (Smart Target Acquisition technology is included as a standard feature), NDB-laser attachment, ARC light illuminator, EV9 miniature night vision sight, back-up rear sight, vertical forward handgrip, rail interface system, combat sling, 40mm quick-detachable grenade launcher, shotgun accessory attachment, and quick-detachable suppressor.
The MAS-16 C variant is designed for Law Enforcement purposes and features unique UMK (Urban Modification Kit) options, tailored to select LE requirements.

You do realize, ma’am, that you’re no good to the force or the city if you cripple or kill yourself trying to be a super hero, yes?
Madison could probably pull that maneuver off normally but she’s extremely sleep deprived. Hell, you see her arm shaking there in the last panel trying to hang onto that ladder long enough to shoot that arm joint.
What sort of a hero would she be if she just stood back, flung her hands in the air and said “Nope! Not my problem!” while countless lives were lost
Also, you do know how much of a kick those guns have, right?
It’s not just her arm that is shaking, it’s her whole damn body!
1. Madison and Reena weren’t even supposed to be out on patrol.
2. Madison is suffering from insomnia and suffering from extreme exhaustion. Her judgement is impaired and she’s suffering from bouts of weakness.
3. Other officers are supposed to be heading to the scene. Madison and Reena just got the call because they were closer but weren’t supposed to be out on patrol.
Again, how many lives could be lost while they stand back?
Nice description of the firearm! But you’d think that far in the future they’d have access to standard energy weapons-based equipment. Railguns would be another good setup as they are a combination of both a projectile and energy weapon (electro-magnetic induction to fire the round without the need of gas or powder). Kinda like the M41A Pulse rifle form Aliens.
