A CENTURY OF SUMTER
by Emaly Neville

Sumter Academy’s founder, Ira Sumter, envisioned an institution capable of “molding today’s young women into the trailblazers of tomorrow.” Over a century later and her vision continues as Sumter Academy celebrates its 120th anniversary. Commemorating the occasion, the Pallad City Historical Society will be featuring an exhibit to honor the life and achievements of Ira Sumter. The exhibit is scheduled to run from November 1st to December 22nd at the Pallad City Museum.
