FACTORY CATCHES FIRE IN WEST SIDE DISTRICT

A Halloween evening fire forced an immediate evacuation of Skyline Industries’ West Side factory. Early reports state that no casualties or serious injuries were reported, but details are still coming in. The fire spread to several of the surrounding buildings, which were vacant. Firefighters worked to extinguish the flames, while the police closed the streets near the factory. A column of black smoke was visible for hours after the incident.

The West Side district has been largely abandoned for the last three years and most of the property has been on sale, though a redevelopment deal looks unlikely as few prospective buyers have come forth.

Though the fire left the factory standing, the extent of the damage inside is currently unknown. Investigators have yet to determine where the fire originated from, and no statement has been released on whether the incident was accidental or intentional.

Skyline Industries is owned by Pallad City’s current mayor, Hynden Neville, who is currently campaigning for re-election this year.
