The following is an article excerpt taken from an issue of Technology Today:

If you’ve been to a grocery store, hotel, restaurant, or used public transportation, you’ve likely encountered an SA-80 series service android. These particular models have quickly risen in popularity due to their reliable AI, low-maintenance needs, and physical dependability. What’s not widely known about the SA-80 series is that they were originally designed to serve as combat androids, but were deemed unsuitable for military applications after failing various battlefield simulations. A major issue was their lackluster battery life and constant dependence of a nearby charging station. The units were ultimately repurposed and marketed as the ideal service industry android—and with their enhanced durability, owing to their original combat designs, these units can certainly ‘take a licking and keep on ticking.’
