According to a new report from the Valto Center for Drug Abuse and Addiction, it is estimated that deaths linked to the powerful street drug, Afterlife, have risen by thirty percent since last month.

The Pallad City Police Department recently announced that a special task force has been formed to deal with the drug-related crisis. Police Chief Victor Hardiman has stated that the task force will primarily be targeting individuals, groups, and criminal organizations responsible for the distribution and manufacturing of the drug.

Mayor Hynden Neville released a statement yesterday that he has complete faith in the PCPD’s new task force and that they will make immediate inroads to curb the crisis.

Little is known about Afterlife or where the drug originated from, but the deadly substance has already contributed to hundreds of fatal overdoses since first appearing in Pallad City two months ago. Based on the rising number of Afterlife-related deaths, the Valto Center has estimated that overdoses may reach historic levels by next month.
