Topic: Bars to avoid?

Moving to Pallad City for work and my daily commute will take me through the Ardus District. Are the bars around there really that bad? Any places I should avoid after dark? Looking for actual advice, not the usual “avoid the whole district” comments.

@ironball37, seriously, AVOID THE WHOLE DISTRICT. I lived in Ardus twelve years ago. Every bar I frequented there was always the same. Lots of shouting, chairs getting thrown, someone trying to settle a grudge, fights spilling out into an alley, having a knife pulled on you, etc. And that was on a slow night. I hear it’s much worse now than it ever was back then.

Most bars in that district attract people who are already looking for trouble.

My rules for any bar: leave if the atmosphere feels tense, don’t flash cash, and don’t get involved in other people’s business or disputes. Oh, and if the windows are boarded up but the OPEN sign works perfectly, keep walking.

I’ve been to two bars in Ardus, both places I’d never want to visit again. I shit you not, the inside of one looked like a bomb had just hit it. Probably the aftermath of a bar fight, but from what I gather, that’s normal around there.

I’d say Madison and Belanie’s relationship has been strengthened after this ordeal.
At the very least, there’s some mutual respect between them now.
They aren’t back home yet!
They do make a good team.
Madison should loot some of the bodies for better clothes. Would Nihil’s outfit be a good fit for Madison? At the very least, she could use the trenchcoat the “security ‘droid” was wearing.
So,what’s next?
Sweaty sex. Belanie needs to help get the rest of the euphoria drug out of Madison’s system.

It’s great to see the bar arc coming to a close.
Despite my feelings that this section was a bit dragged out, I also thought it progressed the story in some refreshing ways.
1) It was great seeing Madison really put to the test.
2) The effects of euphoria, the almost (!) penetration of Madison, Belanie x Madison scenes. The SLUT cheerleader outfit gag. It was really great seeing the story go there. Full on smut. Lovely.
3) The action scenes were well done. Over the top while still visceral.
Overall, I still think this is one of the best webcomics out there.
Random question: Are any of the tie-in comics canon?

And yes, some of the tie-in comics are canon.
GunRiot and The White Wraith are canon. Our currently on-going Code Mari side-story is also canon. And our “Pallad City Stories” comics have been canon, which includes a Kijo chapter and a Miss Bliss chapter. The Kijo one is complete, but we’ve had to put the Miss Bliss story on hiatus, though we hope to return to it in the near future.

The clarification of what’s canon helps. I thought it was interesting that the Mayor and his assistant, along with Madison and Reena, never mentioned the “special training” in the narrative. Which made me think it wasn’t canon.
I’ve been following your work for years now. You and Salaiix, along with all the other contributing artists, have created something refreshing in the action/smut genre.
Overall, I think the last few years the story has hit new heights with really pushing things to new risque places. It feels there was a decided shift between the series being “lewd scenes” to “full on smut” and I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that was a fantastic change.
I will say I was a little gutted with the janitor died. I thought he had a unique look and the tie-in with he and Reena was very hot. The academy story has been a fun change of scenery. Both Madison and Reena trying to navigate things on their own has allowed their characters to become a lot more defined.
Sorry for the rambling. I love the series and can’t wait to see where it goes!
